The Humanities area

We are witnessing a society in rapid change, and the relationship between humans, technology, and the environment is constantly being tested. This calls for new academic work and ambitious ideas about navigating these changes and creating lasting solutions.

At SSH, we offer study programmes within the two main academic areas.

Students at AAU created a sustainable solution through communication

Students on the master's programme in Communication collaborate with private and public organisations to foster change through communication. The students have developed solutions to several challenges related to sustainability, for example how to get young people to sort waste.

School pupils’ interest in science is strengthened by working with real-life issues

The LEAPS learning model, which aims to create meaningful teaching for primary school pupils through an interdisciplinary and project-based approach, shows positive results in strengthening pupils' interest in both the natural sciences specifically and in school subjects in general.

From noise to music

Humanities students can be extremely innovative. This was demonstrated at this year's Health Hub Innovation Award at Aalborg University, where ideas offered by students from music therapy, communication, and digital media to improve people’s health came in the top five. The music therapy students won both the audience award and second place for their idea and presentation of "Denoiser".
