The six departments

AAU Business School

AAU Business School is strong in the classic disciplines of the social sciences and business economics, and we excel within innovation, entrepreneurship, commercialisation, and value creation.

Department of Communication and Psychology

The Department of Communication and Psychology teaches and conducts research in the relationship between humans, organisations, society, media, technologies, and knowledge. The aim is to enhance people's ability to participate in society.

Department of Culture and Learning

The Department of Culture and Learning is focused on education and research in culture, global conditions, education, identity, learning, organisation, youth, tourism, sustainability, languages, business communication, applied philosophy, literature, media, technology understanding, and digitalisation.

Department of Politics and Society

Research at this department is organised into four disciplinarily coherent clusters consisting of thematically focused research groups within history, public policy, the welfare state and labour market research, democracy, gender studies, etc.

Department of Sociology and Social Work

Research at the Department of Sociology and Social Work is characterised by applied research, basic research, interdisciplinarity, and a strong national profile in sociology and social work.

Department of Law

The Department of Law offers research-based study programmes at an international level and conducts research with public and private stakeholders regionally, nationally, and globally. The department also contributes to the solution of societal challenges.
